Coach Jeremy, a Chicago native, embodies the transformative power of coaching, turning basketball into a way of life. Raised on the resilient west side of Chicago, with eight brothers and one sister, he learned early that hard work is the key to dreams coming true. "Resilience was instilled in me at an early age," reflects Jeremy, recalling nights of perseverance playing basketball in his old neighborhood (Humboldt Park), overcoming gang violence and gunshots on a nightly basis. Growing up in a single-parent household, he embraced this resilience, fueling his basketball success at the high school and the collegiate level.

With over 7 years of coaching/training experience and 15 years in youth development, Jeremy currently serves as the Senior Club Director for the Union League Boys and Girls Club in Chicago, impacting the lives of youth across the city. In 2020, his exceptional leadership earned recognition from Under Armour, the Stephen Curry Brand, and the Positive Coaching Alliance.

Reflecting on his journey, Jeremy believes in coaching as a vehicle for mentorship, shaping the lives of inner-city youth. Basketball saved his life, inspiring him to serve communities by teaching the "game of life through basketball." His commitment to change led to the creation of 1309 Athletics in 2020, a program symbolizing the “address” of his childhood home. Dedicated to empowering athletes worldwide, 1309 Athletics instills a mindset of perseverance and confidence, emphasizing leadership both on and off the court.
